The operation took place over two days, subjecting both adults and children to biometric identity checks. Campaign group Big Brother Watch investigated the deployment and warned that the technology threatens privacy and freedom. The group stated that live facial recognition undermines the presumption of innocence and carries documented race and gender biases.
