Nigel Farage has won the Clacton by-election with 62% of the vote, but did not attend the count. The Reform UK leader claimed Essex Police warned him of an organised campaign to disrupt the result. However, ITV News understands the force did not advise Mr Farage or any other candidate to stay away. The election victory automatically restarts a standards inquiry into a £5m donation to the MP. Mr Farage had originally triggered the contest to protest scrutiny over financial support from his backers.
