The Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded the immediate resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over an alleged sacrilege video controversy and a related forged forensic report. Mann has denied appearing in the viral footage—which allegedly depicts a man resembling him carrying out acts offensive to Sikh sentiments—and has consistently maintained that the video was fake or AI-generated. However, Haryana Police launched an investigation after a Sikh man, Jaspreet Singh, alleged that two senior Punjab Police officers offered him Rs 10 lakh to fabricate a report declaring the footage fake and AI-generated. Singh contacted the authorities after discovering the fabricated report would allegedly be used to challenge proceedings before the Akal Takht Sahib, which had previously declared the video authentic and labelled Mann a "Guru-Dokhi". Responding to the allegations, Mann claimed that the owners of forensic laboratories who prepared a forensic report were attacked by the BJP.
