The K R Puram police in Bengaluru have arrested a 25-year-old engineer named Kenneth and his live-in partner, Shwetha Somasundar, for the murders of Shwetha's parents and younger sister on 22 June. Investigators revealed that Kenneth repeatedly consulted a search engine's artificial intelligence tool over six months to plan the execution and cover-up of the crime. According to police sources, Kenneth confessed to asking the AI tool about the merits and demerits of incinerating bodies, intending to repurpose an iron furnace he had constructed for a cloud kitchen. Police noted that the couple's extreme social isolation fostered a mindset detached from real-world consequences, leading officers to consider the AI tool an accomplice to the killings. Shwetha was arrested in Puducherry two days after the incident, whilst Kenneth was taken into custody within the following two days.
